I currently reside in the Pacific northwest.  My free time is spent outdoors enjoying the ocean, fishing, hiking and exploring.

I first started doing papier mache clay pieces back in 1997.  Since then I have also included working with an excellent high quality polymer clay.  The polymer clay has enabled me to achieve more detail in my art.  I love working with the paper clay as well as polymer.

As part of my expanding endeavors I also work with
Enesco and Dept 56 . These companies reproduce quality licensed folk art sculptures from my original art.  See "giftware" below.

About my originals

Some of my figures are made from a papier mache clay composition and some from a quality artist doll polymer based clay. Each piece starts off as an armature then the building begins. After drying or baking all the pieces each head, arm leg, body are sanded to a smooth texture in accordance with the piece.  Base coat is gesso'd then they are then carefully painted with full detail with quality acrylics.  I always try and bring fresh, clean crisp pieces, using top quality products in my line. Painted with high quality artist acrylics, sometimes sanded for a nice vintage look and appeal, stained, waxed and then sealed. All pieces come signed, dated and tagged with a small signature card.

None of my originals are ever exactly the same. Quality and originality are the creative guidelines that I follow along with new a refreshing look each time I sit and start the sculpting process. From start to finish it takes any where from 6  to 16 hours.  Full figured pieces range from 85.00 to 400.00.  Just this past year I have introduced a very fun line I call "Little Pumpkinseeds".  These are tiny sculptures ranging from 1 inch to 2 inches in size.

My work comes with 15+ years of experience and tedious attention to detail.  No pieces ever leave my studio without me knowing in my heart it was the absolute best I could have accomplished.

My paintings and or collages are original and arrive to your home signed and dated.  Again, I use artist grade acrylics, sealed with a top quality varnish.

Giftware by Enesco

Back in the Fall of 2007 I started working with Enesco to create a wonderful and affordable licensed giftware pieces that are available through your local gift shops.  These high quality figures are reproductions made from the originals.  Enesco's quality and detail are exceptional and they offer the same standards of excellence as I.  I am pleased to not only offer my originals on this site but also have gift shops carry a more affordable reproduction line though Enesco.

Currently in works is a brand new venture with Department 56.  Enesco purchased Dept 56 this past 2009 year and as a result of that purchase I am lucky enough to work with this fabulous company.  Quality and standards will remain high and my entire line will be expanding.  This is exciting news for Pumpkinseeds collectors!

What is the difference between the originals vs reproductions

Occasionally I receive emails wanting to know what the difference is between the my original creations verses the reproduction pieces you find in stores.  My originals are just that... original.  These come directly from the artists hands.  As stated above all originals are made by me from start to finish and are made from various types of clay composition.  The reproductions come from Enesco Giftware Company and or Dept 56.  These collectibles are produced in numbers, sold to retail stores and are made from a quality resin stone base.  To place an order retailers can either call Enesco or order a catalog via Enesco's website.  You can purchase the reproduction pieces by contacting or visiting your local giftware shop and ask for Pumpkinseeds.
